Dyno tune.

Im trying to get my car locally tuned here in Winnipeg, MB for a nitrous tune.
Pretty much for him to tell me that my A/F is good, that fuel pressure is good an for him to take some timing out of it.

But what i dont get is that he says, the only way for him to take timing out of it is with a "chip". I thought 4th Gens didnt have "chips'' and that he would be able to just do it by reprograming my ECU.

All in all he said to do a couple dyno runs an do this tune it would be around 800 dollars. Do you find this much?

92 and 93 lt1's had "chips"
Your 94 has a PCM, and can have the timing taken out by reprogramming. Easy enough.

I definatley wouldnt pay that much just to have timing adjusted. I would do it myself for a fraction the cost.

Why does everyone think 94 lt1's have chips, I had the same debate one time.

Well if he thinks he needs to put in a chip, i would be very wery of getting any tuning done by him at all.

I went over with him and i miss understood him. Everythings fine, an im just gunna be running a MSD Digital 6 box, so that it retards my timing when i switch the nitrous on and it return's my timing back to normal when im not spraying.
