Unhappy Dynoed My '97 Z Last night... kinda depressed with my results... what do you think?

1997 Z28 A4
86,000 Miles on everything but Oil and Fuel Filter
Magnaflow Catback and 3.73 Gears (Only Mods)

244.8 RWHP
275.3 FT LBS Torque

Is this about what i should've expected? Mabye with a complete tune up and putting the rest of the mods in my sig on (CAI, TB Bypass, Programming) mabye it would do better? What do ya think?

that is about all u should expect for how little mods u have. u have to account for drvietrain loss man. drivetrain loss in an A4 is 18-20% SO......275(or 285hp if 96/97 car) with a 20% drivetrain loss would be around what u got.

do plugs and wires if u havent done so yet,do the free mods (ie. TB bypass, ect), and do a cutout and u should see an extra 5- 10 hp)

Man do plugs/wires ASAP! Also, free mods and a cold air intake. You will be rollin after that.

Hey man, do EVERYONE in the world a favor and dyno again with the TB bypass as your only mod, and then redyno after that CAI. If you post your results then I'll send you a dollar to help defer the cost of your dyno time. If, following your tests EVERYONE else sends you a buck, you can retire.

I don't know, I honestly think I'd be happy if I rolled 244/275 with just a catback. Sounds like its running good to me

Sounds about right to me...don't be sad, throw a set of long tubes, heads, and a cam at it...then wake it right up ;D

What was your AF at? Does sound a little low, although the 3.73's will loose you some rwhp. Im not sure what LT1's usually make stock rwhp, I made 275/294 with just a cai, 3.73 and stall. The gear and stall killed the rwhp though. Get a tune up and do some more mods and get it tuned and you will be hauling ***.
