Dynomax bullet question

If I go with a dynomax bullet muffler placed on the IM pipe after y-pipe and before the axle.. what size bullet would be good 16" or 24" ??
Would it be better to exit before or after the axle with a turndown...??
Backpressure isnt an issue.. Im going for practicality and sound... I like it loud.. but not annoying...

Re: Dynomax bullet question

The 24" would not fit between my Y-pipe and catback. I went with the 16", which on other sites is also referred to as the 12". It's 16" overall I believe, but the actual muffler portion is 12", if I remember right. If you are doing a custom catback, then you could get away with the 24" I believe.

If you dump before the axle, you will get a lot more interior cabin thumping, and it might get kind of annoying. I would dump them further back if this is going to be a daily driver. If it's a dedicated 1/4 mile car, then it's up to your preference.

Re: Dynomax bullet question

I put the 24" on my car. I have it set up to where I used the stock clamp on the IM pipe and the had the bullet welded a few inches after the slip fit/clamp. And I dumped it just before the axle. I like the way it sounds. It hasn't gotten annoying to me yet, and I don't think it will. But my car is close to stock, minus the CAI (and home made scoop

Re: Dynomax bullet question

dumping before the axle could get annoying. everyones opinion is goin to be diff., but the fact that your thinking about this now makes me think you should er on the side of caution. I have a couple pics of a true dual exh. that both pipes go over the axle in the stock location, and put the mufflers at the back bumper. that would give you near the same sound comeing out of your car, but be WAY quieter inside the car. its what Im gonna do when I redo the exh. on my car. email me if you want to see these pics

Re: Dynomax bullet question

Thanks for the reply's!! I appreciate it.
I think im just gonna have them cut the muffler off right where it comes over the axle.. then replace the IM pipe with the 24" dynomax bullet.. im thinking that the longer it is.. the more sound it will deaden...right?...

My car sounds mean right now... but I want it to be loud enough to hear 1 - 1/2 blocks away... F-the neighbors!!
