eagle rotating assemblys? forged 355 or 383? same price.....

Well, after being down and out of a f-body "again" I'm finally back. To keep this as simple as possible what would be the cons of going with the 383 over the 355? My mechanic said he would put it together, balance, and throw it in at a good price so what do you guys think? A year or two from the build I plan on throwing on a vortec and reaching 500rwhp MAX! I won't be spinning the engine over 6500 rpms. I won't be doing heads anytime soon (if at all) just a small to mid size cam(more than likely a hotcam kit). Both rotating kits are the exact same price at $1449 and comes 100% complete. Now which one will be better for a DD and why? Yes I'm very secure about my HP needs and won't be goin over 500max. Help me out guys! Is a 383 going to run a lot hotter? If so maybe that isn't the best idea for a daily driver? I've searched but nothing that compares the two for the reason I'm using it and price.

The more cubes the better. The only difference is the crank and pistons... if you are buying both of those new they will be about the same price either way. Only extra cost with the 383 is that it will take some block clearancing for the longer stroke. I wouldn't think that would cost too much.
It shouldn't run any hotter.

stock heads on a 383 is like trying to breath through a straw while running a marathon. 355 with a nice valve train and rev it to 7k

383 will give you a fatter torque curve which is nice for a street car. But, its gonna need a set of good flowing heads.

in my own opinion if your are not going to do it right the first time dont do it at all.... u will just end up with disappointment. all these people complain about the LT1 not being as good as the LS1 but u have to face the facts if u do a 355 or 383 with no heads your going to too have a crappy car.... you will be better just doing a light stock bottom end rebuild with a heads and cam package. yeah u will get a 383 for under $2000 but then u have to add the valvetrain, and drivetrain. Dont do it if you are not prepared to spend some money....
