easy 1/4ml question

I have a 94 with Lingenfelter cai, free ram air mod, muffler cutoff and a gutted cat.
Were going to the track on the 24th, so it should be around 60-65degrees. What times should i expect. Its goin to be test and tune day so i can run as many times as i would like. Try different take offs and all that good stuff.

Anywhere from a high 14 @ 95mph to a high 13 @ 101mph. It all depends on how you drive and how strong the car is.

It's all about traction! If you can afford to get some drag radials then do it, I just took mine to the track for the first time and the tires kept spinning all the way through first, halfway through second and a bit in third. I tried launching from idle in 1st, 2000rpm in second (still lit em up) and still only did a best of 14.6 @ 99mph (lousy track at ~2300' elevation). I won't be going again until I get some drag radials (and a drive line loop). With my SLP's and cutout I sound good and I'm sure the tire smoke and sideways action looked good but I'd rather have a better ET!

With streets no need for a big burnout. Drive around the water, spin the tires a little to clean them off, and have at it. With 2.73's you should pretty much be able to stab the gas for your launch. It's all in the 60'ft time so have fun and let us know how it goes!

Later,

Mike

With your 2.73 gears and automatic (stock converter?) you may not have as bad of a time as I do. I would try without a water burnout first because you probably won't be able to heat your streat tread up enough and any risidual water in the tread will kill your traction. Get there early and play with different techniques, launching at different rpms will have the biggest effect, you'll have to find the optimal rpm which will keep you from bogging yet not causing your tires to go up in smoke (probably between 1800 and 2500 will work)

I have a 2.73 A4 and in 80 degree weather I pull 14.01 @99. My mods are cutout, g2 cai, slp iac...

I spin a lot and have bad 60 foot times we are talking 2.3, 2.4 with stock tires.
