He made 363RWHP with stock exhaust manifolds with a mild cam (218/224), ported LT4 heads and other bolt ons.

I have read on the mac web site that some of their headers are not smog legal. make sure they come a carb. #. Personally, I'm going to buy SLPs from new era perf. Here is the link.... http://www.neweraperformanceparts.co...&A=E&PKV=30017|0
The SLP's come coated but I haven't emailed n.e.p. to ask them how much the coated ones cost.

Well thanks again for all the replies. I was looking around and the only MAC's I found for $560 were the ones without the dual cats, does anybody know if you need to modify the O2 sensors with this set up. I might go this route and put a high flow cat inline later. We have emissions here every two years so I have some time before I will get inspected again. Also will this system without cats generate any codes in the computer, I am OBDII so they do a visual check and then check the computer for codes, and if there are no codes it passes that simple.

Have you ever thought about the edelbrock tubular exhaust system, thats what i have. Not really sure about how they perform because i have never had anything else.

Does the y-pipe have the cats in them or does it emilate the cats? Also did you get them coated or is the painted stainless holding up okay? Any problems with routing the plug wires? Sorry for all the questions but I like to find out as much as i can before I invest in something that way I only have to invest once.

i ran extremely well with edelbrock shorties and their y pipe, went from 8.67 at 81.16 to 8.46 at 82.65, take it for what u will thats over 2 tenths drop and a 1.5 mph gain in the 1/8 alone

DOnt get edelbrocks, it did nothing for my car! Not worth it at all!!! You can get long tubes w/ a y-pipe and cats. People sell new or alomost new Long tubes on here everyday get them if you dont wanna spend the money, but for god sakes dont get these headers. They did nothing at all.
If you want shorties try another company like mac w/ some high flow cats.
Long tubes are the way to go if you want some power. You wont get $hit w/ edelbrocks.
Waste of cash.
As for plug access I still cant see my plugs LOL. My friend has mac I could see his. My other friend has long tubes and You can definately get to his plugs
