Egr

Egr
I recently took my EGR valve off and put block off plates on it. When i took all the vacum lines off no code was set, than when I go to unplug the sensor all the vacum lines run to the SES light came on. Will it be ok to just leave it with no lines run to it? And will this effect my gas milage?

Re: Egr
Yeah, when you unplug the solenoid, the computer will see that as a fault. That, in itself, should not cause any gas mileage issues. You can just leave the solenoid there with no vacuum run to it. Make sure you have plugged the vaccum off at the manifold.

Re: Egr
Measure the resistance across the EGR vacuum solenoid connection. Get a resistor with that value, and plug it into the terminals on the harness connector for the solenoid. That way you can eliminate the solenoid.

Re: Egr
I also have a '94 Z-28 and have deleted the EGR. I left the EGR solenoid plugged in but still pull an EGR code (everything is properly blocked off). Is it possible that the EGR solenoid is fried causing the SES light to come on? Thanks
