oooopss, i was wrong. i made some calculation. 5000 hours, 2 hours a day = 2500 days. 2500 days = 7 something years....actually it is pretyy good...btw, i would like to ask you guys, is CSI and MEZ water up have the same HP gain?? thanks guys

I got a CSI i drive about 200 - 400 miles a week
if your that worryed about it diein then get a spare to keep in the car but i think it'll last as long as a stocker
about the cooling questions..
my car runs alot cooler with the electric wp was around 200 - 210 now it stays right at 180 w/ a 180 t-stat
and never went over 185 i dont think

The pump runs off your cam via dowl pin, the horse power comes from drag that a stock pump produces making the engine have to work that much harder. I got one and like it and the whole idea of it . Plus purging the air is easier when you change coolant or swap that opti out.

The mechanical pump moves with engine speed. Obviously, it pumps enough at idle to keep the engine cool. In fact, under most conditions, it pumps too much. That's why you have a thermostat: to flow only when needed.
Now when you rev the engine, you drastically increase the pumping capabilities. If the thermostat is closed, and since the engine block can only flow so much coolant, the result is only higher pressure and more drag from the pump. The higher the RPM, the higher the drag.
By going to an electric pump, the drag is the same, no matter what the engine speed. At higher RPM, this makes a difference.

Electric and get CSI but be prepared to notch the housing as previously stated. You can also do searches on the web for install instructions. It can be a little tricky getting the old stock pump out. Here is a good link for a mez install the only difference with the CSI is the notching of the housing to get it to drop in.
EWP install instrucions link
The guy claims to have gained/freed up almost 10hp!
