Engine balance?

Engine balance?
Swapping out original LT-1 6 spd) from my Z-28 for a Corvette LT-1 (auto), I am going to replace the flex plate with my flywheel but should I have balance concerns? Also, should the dampers be changed or can I use vette damper with my flywheel or is the balance going to be affected?

Re: Engine balance?
The rear of a “stock” LT1 is "externally" balanced, therefore, you'll need to use a flywheel, or flexplate with the external counter-balance weight. Also, the roll-pin key on the crank ensures proper clocking of the external weight.
The front of all stock LT1s are "internally" balanced and they use a harmonic damper, not a harmonic balancer.
Most rebuilt LTs (especially strokers) are changed to "rear internally balanced," which then requires changing the rear flywheel, or flexplate to the type without a counter balance weight.
