Engine Build Questions-355 vs 383...CAM?
I finialy saved the funds to build up my engine. Heres what I got picked out for the heads, intake /Dart LT1 200cc runner heads with 58cc combustion chamber with an Edelbrock Performer RPM Fuel Injected intake.Heres the package http://www.sdparts.com/product/KDART...RPMIntake.aspx Im stuck on the cam selction. I'm thinkin the CC xfi292 cam or just maybe the goodole cc306. I would love to hear some suggestions. IM in Kansas where emmisions testing is not a problem... My other question; Im stuck between goin 355 vs 383 on the bottomend ... Suggestions as well as Advice are welcomed. I'm shootin for close to 400ish hp(wouldnt mind alilltle more than 400) at the wheels combined with a healthy torque number. Thanks!

If your already planning on putting in a new bottom end you may as well go with a 383 setup, its really not that much more cost and you get more torque. Along with that you can go bigger with the cam not only b/c the extra cubes but also b/c you won't be giving up as much down low. But of course its all relative to what YOU want
O yea and as soon as you ask for cam help everyone will say call LE...which is honestly prolly the smart decision, but if you like pickin ur own parts you might want to run through a few simulations on a dyno computer progam
