Engine Code Question
So I have a motor that was pulled from a 94 t/a. The engine vin is 2r2200245, my question is does this mean the motor is out of an f-body car? Or could it be a buick engine? It has cast iron heads, but i was wondering if someone put the heads off a impala, caprice, what have you, on an f-body block. Because if im not mistaken the cams are different.

The first "2" indicates its from a Pontiac..... that would seem to rule out the B-Body and Y-Body cars. The "R" indicates 94.

And yes, the iron head LT1's have a lower compression ratio and a milder cam.
