Engine Identification
What info is needed to get a proper ID on a engine and where do I find the numbers on the engine? Near the oil filter, front of the engine? Does this forum have a go to spot for this info?

Re: Engine Identification,NEW PHOTOS
These are the best photos I can get. I have used brake cleaner, pen-lube, coil cleaner and a lot of 409. Is there any way to raise the numbers "forensic" style?
I want to install a bigger cam, lifters, springs ect, but I need to know what I have 1st. Any help is appreciated..
Thank you

Re: Engine Identification
Looks like it begins with 1S by the oil filter, so 1995 Chevrolet and you already confirmed the 327 on the block for the LT1.
If it is not 1S, then you might have a warranty replacement block. It's still gonna be an LT1.
