Eportworks LT1 LE1 Value & Performance

Re: Eportworks LT1 LE1 Value & Performance
My dad was afraid that the motors had alot of aftermarket work done to the bottom end to get the stated power. I didn't think that that was the case, but wanted to be sure. I'm sure that if the work were done, it would increase performance as well as the life of the motor. Might be worth looking into when I do the change...
Another question....
I am pretty sure that LT1's are roller cams, but are they roller rockers as well. If not, where is a good place to get roller rockers?

Re: Eportworks LT1 LE1 Value & Performance
I put down 350rwhp/360rwtq With a set of Lloyds old heads (before the stages) I have since upgraded to the LE2 cam and hope to dyno soon. The car is very drivable. Also I'm running a stock shortblock. I believe most Guys are doing that. I spin my motor to 6500 rpms with no problems
Btw do the engine swap. I did mine 3.5 years ago and Love it.
Hope this helps,
Kory

I was try to be a smart a$$. I guess you told me. I don't get a choice of the type of header I can use. Since, I am living in cali.
How would I measure the headers? are you looking for tube runner length? or are youlooking for cc volume?

Re: Eportworks LT1 LE1 Value & Performance
Runner length of all the pipes would help, from where they meet the head to where they end up in the collector.... bad thing is it's the middle of the pipe that counts not the shortest distance.

Yeah, it does a little bit, but not a whole lot.
You can deffinatly tell its cammed, but it is somewhat of a sleeper.
Knowing the specs of the cam, I am really suprised its not a lot more choppy.

I have Lloyd Elliots LE2 heads with a GM847 cam. His portwork is excellent. Click on the link in my signature and go to car parts. There are some pictures of his heads. My car is defiantly streetable with the help of Ion's tuning! I am running 90 octane gas and I just beat a z06 today. I have yet to dyno/get track times.
Defiantly worth the money for the performance and quality of work he does!

Re: Eportworks LT1 LE1 Value & Performance
Would it be recommended to install roller rockers on the LE1 heads?
Would it be a good idea to throw in a steel crank since I have to have the whole motor out any way?

You don't really need a steel crank at that RPM or power level so just save your money.

Re: Eportworks LT1 LE1 Value & Performance
I was thinking about in the future maybe adding a supercharger. That is why I was considering a steel crank. But then, with a super, I would need lower compression pistons as well. Money, money, money.
With a 10 pound boost super and the LE1 heads and cam, I would probably be looking at about 450-500 hp right? Or is that an over-estimate?
