EWP wiring question

I'm just curious what switched 12V source do most people tap into for their electric water pump?

in the fuse box...the entire left side i believe has no fuses in it, buta ll get power when the key turns on...just put an inline fuse to the pump from that, and ground it out near the fuse box, youll be set!

if i was doing it, i would take +12V from the distribution block under the hood (the nut and stud that has the red cap over it) and use +12V IGN from the fuse block to energize a relay that closes the circuit between that distribution point and the EWP. i don't know exactly how much current the EWP will draw, but i'm sure it's more than i would want to pull through the fuse box all the time.

my

hey MEAN, whats up?? i'm from goshen, but i'm going to school in fort wayne now. later!

you can do it that way, and it wouldent drawl it from the fuse box, not a bad idea...actually better than wat i suggeseted...but half the car is run out of the fuse box, so i figure it would have plenty enough to power the water pump...

Jegs website says the Mezeire LT1 EWP comes with a 20 amp fuse. So I guess you probably could use the fuse box for that considering under normal operation it will pull less than 20 amps. Either way would work.

I have mine setup like mmmchickenboy stated.

Take a look at this schematic.
http://ken.lowrance.com/projects/CSI...mp/Default.htm

The green area is for an optional switch...it didn't use it but it might be something your interested in.

Some pics of the install can be found here:

Thanks guys. I ran out of time last night to do the wiring so I just quickly hooked it up to the battery and just unplug it when I turn off the car. I'll probably just run it off the fuse block since it must not draw much voltage considering it only uses a 20 amp fuse.

I'm the east side of Elkhart, but I went to school at Concord and was around Goshen alot. what do you drive? I may have seen you around.
