so if they do break, im gonna have to take the manifold off no matter what? or does it matter where it breaks
So those studs wont come out like in the picture without taking them to a machine shop?

If there is enough stud left to grip with vice grips or weld on a bolt, you can get them out by heating the manifold red hot with a torch. They'll squeak, but they'll come out. Mapp gas torch might work, I know acetylene will. I don't think propane gets hot enough. I had my GTO in a Midas muffler shop years ago and the rocket scientist working on it managed to break off all four head pipe studs in the exhaust manifolds in about 5 minutes. They brough on the "A-Team" and the guy welded a bolt on top of each broken stud, heated the manifold red hot and unscrewed them without a hitch.

Stock manifolds are probably a dime a dozen. I just threw mine away when I went to headers. If you have too much trouble maybe someone on the board will send to a set for the postage.
