A/F Ratio

If you are lean up top, is it true that you will dyno higher? And now that it is fixed, my cars numbers won't be as good?

Re: A/F Ratio

A typical NA setup makes max hp ~13.3:1. The factory calibration is a little bit richer than that, so in a sense "lean makes more hp" but only if it already richer than 13.5:1 and leaning it out doesn't take it past 13.5:1. IOW, the answer is "maybe".

Thats my dyno chart... it hits 13.88 which is pretty damn lean. I never made a 2nd pull, am tuned to a 112 LSA (114LSA) and pulled off at 5450.

So I am curious to see what kind of power I am making at 6k tuned to the right cam and the correct a/f ratio.

Also, you have to copy and paste the URL in order for it to work.

Re: A/F Ratio

Since you already have it tuned for the correct cam now, why don't you just wait until you do another run? There's no way to tell how things will be affected without doing another run. Also, your power will peak later than 5450 (even on this last run) so I would recommend reving it to about 6100 on the dyno next time.

Re: A/F Ratio

Like Ion said, why guess? Who is to know, but yours was too lean at 13.88:1 and it would make more power if it had been richer, not leaner. BTW: the difference in hp between a little too lean or a little too rich is minimal.

Re: A/F Ratio

So I actually lost power from being to lean?

I am going for a few more pulls... but I need 90$ to spare and I don't have that right now. I want to in like a month or so. I'm trying to get another tattoo...

But thanks for the information. I was just a little curious.

Also, I pulled off at 5450 because my tach was that off. My tach read 5800
