Well i guess we must have fixed whatever the problem was because after 3 very long road tests in single digit weather the car is running beautifully. The fans still come on though, about 20 seconds after the car is started up. Not sure why but i got the more important part of the problem fixed.. my car is running.
I was thinking if the problem comes back, maybe its my pcm. I know when we were working on the car we checked all the plugs on the pcm making sure everything was alright. maybe this is what is causing my car to run fine now, and i thought if it came back then it must be something in the pcm that is just shutting down the car

now that 2 weeks has passed, the stall isnt back. however my car has another problem. the engine just shuts down, sometimes it catches itself on the way down at low rpms and comes back but mostly it just dies. it happens when the car is warming up or warmed up, hot and cold days. the car runs fine until it does this. it also does it while driving, although it doesnt stall the car still loses power for a second and bogs down then kicks back up again. its been happening for about 3 days now, with the exception of one day when it didnt do it. what i dont understand is how these problems are just coming and going randomly. like i said i didnt really do anything to fix the other problem, or if i did it was by accident. could it be the PCM? i read a few other posts, if the pcm was retuned by a previous own to modifications he did, could this affect my car now?
