fastest gm847 cars

im redoing my 383 with a gm 847 and wanted to see how fast cars were going with similar mods...i have a 3200 stall, great suspension parts, and approx. 3350 raceweight (stripped car) and my 383 has ai 190 cc heads. i know one guy has run 11.15 with a 306 but anyone else to low 11's or think this car could run that?

Re: fastest gm847 cars

The biggest Obstacle my car has is that my present motor only has about 9.8:1 compression. I know Jeff has closer to 12:1 and his car is lightened.

He also didnt mention that his 11:06 was on a HOT HOT day. In some cold air it would run well into the 10s.

My low compression car ran 11.50s cosistant on a 85 degree night with about 100% humidity (1200 foot ele). I would like to hit the track on a 50 degree night to see how it does, but I have a higher compression motor in the works that will be done by then. (moving up to 11:1)

Re: fastest gm847 cars

I still haven't been able to get mine to a track yet with a good trans, or no exhaust leaks.... so the crap in my sig is of no use to you.

My car only has lightweight wheels, and the front sway bar removed.

Jeff I beleive has alot more done, but if I remember correctly he is still in the 3400 range with the driver.
Jeff would have to chime in on what he has done.

My car traps anywhere from 118 to 120 mph , depending , so its moking in the 400 rwhp range (probably on the low side, But it has tons of torque, especially from 2500 to 4000. If you start anywhere from in there the car has massive problems with traction.

With 1.80 to 1.60 60 foots that should be no problem whatsoever.

Re: fastest gm847 cars

im hoping the qa1 shocks/springs up front, spohn torque arm, sfcs, drag launch springs out back, 3.73s, 3200 stall and lightened front end will get that job done on qtpros

Mine with Le2 heads makes 417rwhp with a 2800 and all i can manage is 11.80 at 115. with 342s out back. It also has the 847 cam. with stock suspension. I know the car can run faster but why am i 4-5 mph slower? Yea tq management is a mother of an issue.
