Re: fastest gm847 cars

The weight has alot to do with it, the lighter the car the faster it goes. I guess it's all in the combination gears, trans, tunning etc.. etc... I also plan on running a simular set up as jeffs. Mine will be a 383 or a 357 with the LE3 heads and cam which is bigger than the GM847. I just hope to run simular times.

Re: fastest gm847 cars

Excellent info.. My car is a fat pig and needs a diet i think with that and a 12 bolt i can see 11's in the future, But now I wanna throw some ported Trick flows on and see what this stock bottom end can do with the 847.

Re: fastest gm847 cars

I'm going with a tubular K-member with the a-arms BMR claims that with this set up with Qa1 shocks and lighter brake system you can loose up to about 100lbs that's alot of weight. I assume that a standard Z28 weighs about 3500lbs. Remove bumper supports, and all the other stuff not needed and you can weigh in a 3400 to 3300lbs.

I thought there was a 355 gm847 car running mid to high 9's on the bottle? I think his screen name is N20t/a maybe?

I guarantee you will gain 3 mph just from going to 3.73s. Also you'd probably gain a tenth or 2 in the 1/4 as well.

3.42s lug the motor too much for this cam.

Oh Ok, What did you run earlier that year during the summer?
I was thinking you ran a really really low 11 in the heat.
