Re: Faulty Dyno? Bolt on LT1 335RWHP

I'm not saying he's lying about putting down those numbers. That or something fishy going on with the dyno.
See now that is cool. I figured you were calling him a liar, so I went on the defensive. but since you understand thats what the dyno gave us and we told you what mods we've done then that's all we can do as far as the dyno results.
All cory can do is run the car. We showed up at the dyno and those are the results we got. He''ll go to the track and whatever he runs, he runs.

Sorry about calling you close minded, but I felt like you were just forgetting that ....................each car is different.

Look around on these boards, you'll find alot of LT1 cars that dyno 255+ RWHP bone stock. Their all M6's, in good tune, but they are around.

GM has under rated every F-body ever produced. It would "hurt" corvette sales. No one likes to admit that a 20K $ Fbody has the same engine as a 50K$ Vette does. Minor differences, but you get the point.

They are underrated.

Don't be so sure, thats what I thought when I had my car and dyno'd 303rwhp SAE with an auto with just "boltons". It was 99% stock when I bought it, or I thought it was. All it had on it was the 1.6 rockers and springs that I could see, the rest was 100% stock down to the air filter. Then 1.5 years later, I put my first cam in, and when I pulled the intake manifold, I found fully ported heads. My car was 100% stock externaly when I bought it, but it had ported heads, so its possible that yours has some internal mods too.

I have replaced the stock fuel pump, the stock plugs and wires, stock clutch, stock shifter, stock suspension, stock factory tires and wheels, stock intake with the original filter, stock y pipe and manifolds.

It is just not logical that they could make it look that stock again.

You can't compare STD numbers to SAE numbers. Ask the shop to convert the dyno numbers to SAE, and you'll see a pretty big drop in your numbers. SAE is the accepted correction method.

From what I've seen, STD numbers are ~ 4% higher than SAE numbers. This would put your car around 320 rwhp, SAE, which is more believable.

Get some SAE numbers and some track times. Your STD numbers are invalid as far as most of the automotive world is concerned.

*shrug* Continue to be a smartass while the rest of us laugh at the fact that you think you have a "factory freak". You were never interested in hearing peoples' thoughts on your dyno numbers...why ask for peoples' opinions then be a smartass about it and ignore the truth? You didn't roll 335 rwhp SAE, therefore your numbers are irrelevant. If everyone used STD corrections, we would see a lot more 330+ rwhp LT1s. But your car is special...

Re: Faulty Dyno? Bolt on LT1 335RWHP

I made 283 stock with my lt1..... and std numbers.
I did 335/350 SAE with my cam and bolt ons. STD #s just arn't a fair comparrison.

Many 400hp head/cam 350-355ci motors are barely making 360 tq. Its hard to do without the cubes or power adders.

You guys are strung pretty tight lol, I was actually agreeing with you in that post.

I said from the very start I wasn't sure if something was wrong or not...and I haven't been a smart *** at all. I have simply told you what mods I have, what the car put down, and what others got, and have simply said that I don't care what you guys think the car must have, it doesn't. Along with that the dyno gave very accurate numbers for the other people there.

You saying, "Yeh, I my ex GF wsn't to crazy about the STD numbers I gave her either." was agreeing with us?

Again...

I have simply told you what mods I have, what the car put down, and what others got, and have simply said that I don't care what you guys think the car must have, it doesn't.
Nobody is doubting the car put down 335 rwhp STD, but unfortunately for the sake of your ego, STD numbers hold no water when comparing your car to others on this board. Again, have the dyno operator convert them to SAE numbers, and you'll see that your car didn't put down 335 SAE, it's probably closer to 318-322 rwhp or so.

I don't care what you guys think the car must have
Then why post your numbers on a message board? It's obvious you care what people think of your car, or else you wouldn't have "factory freak" and other bogus claims in your sig. There are many many other LT1s that have dynoed as high as your car...only difference is, they aren't ignorant enough to post STD numbers.
