Figured out what the "chattering" sound was...

If anyone remeber I posted two different videos a week or two ago trying to figure out what the "chatter" was coming from my engine bay. Well my father and brother came in to town last night and had a listen to it, and they both said it didn't sound like it was coming from the top end. My brother then said it sounded more like a circulating sound rather than an up and down sound, he then listened to the car from underneath the driver's door and said it was louder down there than up in the engine bay and said to check the converter bolts. I finally got around to getting under the car today and two of the converter bolts were backed out about half way.

Tightened everything back up and no more sound. Oh well I guess that'll teach me to recheck anything that anyone else does. One of my buddies tightened the converter bolts while I was reinstalling my torque arm and drive shaft. Lesson learned, and weight lifted off my shoulders, I'm glad it wasn't anything as serious as I was thinking it was going to be.

That's good that you found it before it did some damage to the tranny. And yeah, it helps to check other peoples work, even work done by a reputable shop. Some times they miss stuff or overlook things.

Classic example of why I always overlook work a friend does on a car or even work that a technician at a shop does. Even seasoned techs and knowledged friends can get sidetracked and overlook something. At least you got it spotted and fixed before anything major occurred.
