Give me a minuite, I'm trying to think of the downside to this scenerio.

Big enough to work. See above for further information.

Guys I don't mind constructive conversation....but please don't turn this thread into one of "those" threads.

By "those" ...you all know exactly what I mean

congrats colin,
what kinda DA's are you seeing in KS? I ran a 12.5@110 with my high DA's last weekend, only took a 1.81 60' too, and this is 5400' DAs. With that MPH, you are in the 11s easy. Just keep it up, and dont miss 4th like me! Damn Pro 5.0 shifter... on an f-body.
I am guessing with a 1.8 60' you should see 11.8s@116 (there are people out here running 11.8s@114 with some good 60's... just keep it up).

Thanks The night I ran, DA was around 2400 I believe. I hope your right about the 11.80, I'll find out on sunday. I may even be able to a pick up some mph, being as I won't have to lift in 1st or 2nd on my M/Ts, and the fact that I'll be running lighter wheels

Who knows, either way I'll post up results sunday evening

Done.

Good luck at the track. Please let us know where the best shift points are, if you care to.

My clutch was stinking 10 miles after install. LOL I don't believe in breaking it in easy either.

The PCM puts a limit on how high.
Why would it revise my thinking? Are you telling me that cam should be shifted at.. what was the PCM limit? 7K or 7200rpm or eve higher? If that's the case the cams efficiency may come into question. This, of course depends on the final outcome after this combo is dialed in.

I don't rightly think so. In order for you to be correct you must at least reply with some logic and/or reason as to why my line of thinking should be revised. You've failed to do so even though questions have been asked pertaining to this combo and my line of thinking.

I waited a little bit long than 10 miles...I did about 100 miles of in-town driving before I started beating on it

I agree there are alot of variables that are gonna determine how high I should shift. For instance, the fact that I'm still on a stock TB may cause enough of a restriction that shifting at 7K may get me nothing over shifting a 6.5K. No way to find out till I try it though. However, seeing how this is one of Bret's grinds, I'm willing to bet that him and his dad (OldSStroker) have a pretty darn good idea how its gonna act in a 350ci application.

Also, just to clarify, Bret did not spec this cam for me. I bought it from another board member. When I was thinking of buying it, I pm'ed Bret to ask him how it would act in my application and so far what he has told me about it's characteristics has been dead on. If I were to ask Bret to spec a cam for my combo, it might be a little different than this one. Am I right on this, Bret?

If you're happy, then that's all that matters.

Exactly... I was thinking that you picked this one up second hand and yes if I was doing a custom one just for your car it would be different.

Glad that how I told you it would work was dead on ;-) It's not like I haven't BTDT before!

I have seen that cam in a heads/cam setup run 120+mph in the 1/4 so it has it in it!

Well thats good to know, At least I know it'll get me to my current goal of 120mph+ traps
Thanks for the info Bret

So...do you think you could grind me a cam for this motor that'll take me beyond my current goals if I get bored in the future?
