First runs with Scorpion 1.7rr's

Re: First runs with Scorpion 1.7rr's
Nice gains. Like previously stated, the stock exhaust manifolds are very restrictive in the higher rpm's, and you now having 1.7's, you want to optimize that. Keep us updated as not many people start with 1.7's rr and a cut-out as their baseline. It will be rather interesting to see how your gains improve from here.
Goodluck!

93 TA A4. 14.0 at 97 flat humid weather 2.1 60 foot time. Magnaflow quiet muffler w/ 3 inch tips.(not the muffler from the magnaflow catback). New opti. Thats it. I was rude before about the shifting thing. Sorry. But I would just make sure that the car is tip top shape. I had a 97 formula before this. Bone stock hesitating down the track after 4thousand rpm's w/ speaker in the back 6 speed went 13.9@101. After that I got MSD, 4.10 gears and Cold air and I went 13.4 at 105. still hesitating

You need to get those 60' times squared away before the improvements really show.
On the broken rear end thing auto-vs-manual. If you're wanting to keep the rear alive, getting a rear end girdle will help. That and using a line-lock instead of the drop-and-step approach will help. Got a buddy of mine who's been turning low 11's with 60' in the 1.7 range for over a year now on the stock rear.

When it cools down and I go to a prepped track I guarantee the car will go 105 as it sits.
But if the DA was only 2700 ft, I bet a good bit of your gains were from that, and not completely from your mods. Don't mean to be rude, but it just seems wierd to me.

Kinda off subject, but I allways liked the uphill drive from Phoenix to Flagstaff. In the fall youwould go from 90s to 70s in 100 miles....lol
But that was years ago when I was stationed at Yuma.

I went to our track out hear a couple weeks back and ran a 14.2 with the mods in my sig, but it was at a DA of 7400. Now thats bad.

103 mph is very good for what you have got. 110-112mph is a lofty goal for bolt ons only though. Headers,4.10s,CAI,cutout and DRs got me 13.3@106mph a few years ago.
when are you goin' back to Firebird? Early December for me.
