First time out w/the 396, LE2/4 Setup
I finally made it out with the new setup. The setup is basically a Nutek 396 with LE2 heads and a custom grind with FAST EFI, ported intake, bla bla. The A/F was pretty spot on, but I'm sure I could gain a few ponies playing with the timing - the car was seeing 33-34* of timing. The car wasn't hooking for **** - the car being lowered isn't helping, and I'm sure I need some relocation brackets at this point. Anywho, here's the run:

DA was around 2600'. I was pretty pleased considering the traction issues in 1st and 2nd and the fact that it hasn't been on the dyno yet.

Nice mph...a 1.80 60' and you're in the 11s...I'm sure it won't take much to get that thing dialed in...Good luck with everything and keep us posted...I know my 383 likes 12 deg initial and 36 deg total timing which is exactly what my 72 Chevelle ZZ4 motor liked 10 years ago...

good MPH for the ET. It is making some good power, that 60 ft is KILLING you.
If you are just wanting a prtty quick street car, you already have it and I am sure it is a blst from a 40 MPH dig. If you want it fast in the 1/8 or 1/4, we will HAVE to get that 60 ft in the 1.60 or better range. A 1.60 60 ft will put you in the 11.6 range.
Not sure what has been removed as far as weight goes or how much the car weighs.

A4 and stall size? or 6 speed?
suspension mods?
tires (slicks, DR's or street radials) and size?
just trying to get a feel for everything you have.

The gears are the stock 3.23s, which is killing me...I was finishing the 1/4 in 3rd.
Traction was non existant in 1st and 2nd, even with 12-3 PSI in the slicks. No doubt the car needs LCA relocation brackets.
As far as weight reduction, the back seats were removed and the A/C has been removed. I have no doubt I'll hit 11s next time out and gain 1-2 MPH.
I also arrived at the track kind of late, so I was hot lapping the car. The coolant temp was 213 on that pass - not good for times. I have a few tweaks to make, but I have no doubt I'll hit 11s next time out and gain 1-2 MPH.

Congrats man, you'll get here down in the 11's where she belongs in no time, I started out at 11.9 with 27psi in my 28x13.5 ET streets because I forgot to air down...lol...I run her @13.5 lbs of air and have it down to 11.13 @124.5 but with 3570 lbs she's too fat, gotta start losing some weight somewhere.

My goal with this setup was 120 mph, and I have no doubt I'll get there in the next few months.

Late october through March, the conditions are pretty good. The DA will get down around 1000' on the coolest nights, so I should see a pretty good improvement just from the weather.

The cool weather will make a big difference. I always wait until the intake is barely warm before I run too. A hot intake seems to be a real power robber. Some guys ice but I'm a little wierd about all that water dripping around everywhere. There are gel packs that you can use or even dry ice. I just wait 45 min or so and go again.
