how much RPM are you turning it?
you need gears!!! that will help a **** load!!!! not only to get the car moving out of the hole but to pull the RPMs on the top end that it wants.

I had to go down with mine. I spun at 17 and 16 psi and I finally just let them down to 12 and it dead hooked for a 1.53 60 ft with a completely stock suspension.

I really want to do something more with my powerplant and it seems your on to a good combo. my question is how much $$$$$ does it take to build a N/A LT1 to put down that RWHP. Man that has to be awesome. I feel stupid asking, Who or what is the LE cam and heads? Lingenfelter?

Are you looking to dyno good numbers or are you looking to et? How fast do you want to go? You would be surprised at how fast you can go pretty cheap.

I was spinning the motor to about 6700 RPM in 1st and 2nd, and holding third and crossing the traps at around 6800 RPM. Yes, gears will help a **** load! I was in third from BEFORE the 1/8 traps, through the end of the 1/4. So, I was in one gear for more than half the track.

You can go as fast as I'm going for less $$ for sure, but that pass wasn't near the car's full potential. A N/A 355 with an LE2 package will run numbers similar to mine. My runs were just shakedown passes - my car will be in the 11.5-11.7 @ 120-122 range come the middle of winter, a dyno tune and working all the bugs out.

LE stands for Lloyd Elliot. Check out his website - www.eportworks.com

Re: First time out w/the 396, LE2/4 Setup

I just want a BAD AZZ street car. The dyno #'s are cool and the ET is too. But it's not worth going to go on a diet, or loose all the creature comforts. I want it to stay a street car, not a drag car that can be driven on the street. I checked out LE site, The LE3 sounds right for me. I didn't think you could get that RWHP on a topend build. Well I guess when the time comes I'll ask more ?????'s

Lloyd and Advanced Induction seem to be the most popular companies and they do have amazing results. I went a little different direction with mine to be somewhat more original. The Lingenfelter heads seem to be working pretty well. If you want a powerful street machine, I would go 383 for sure.

My LPE heads have been great on my set up...We just found a wee bit more air using E.B. Porting to re-port and freshen them after 9 years and a weenie (226/234) Joe Overton/Erson cam...LPE was doing some serious stuff before we new what serious stuff was...

They do seem to work. -A weenie cam- that's funny. It's pretty fast for being a weenie. You have some et in that 60 you know.

You would laugh at how out of sorts my suspension was when I made the 1.55-1.59 60's...Pinion angle was at 1 deg positive when I thought it was 2 deg negative...rear was 1/4" out of square under the car, rear sway bar endlinks were bent and the end link bushings crushed/severely deflected and no relocation brackets...

Now its all where its supposed to be and the relocation brackets are in...We are trying the second hole in the Spohn relos first..The car feels like a whole differrent car now...I'll test it on Friday at a local track rental in 49 degree weather and no humidity ...If that doesn't work here come the coil over QA1s...

How'd you get a Nutek motor? Maybe I've been out of it for awhile but I thought that company went under.
