Flywheel Question

Alright so i'm building a 355 looking to put down about 390 to wheels. I'm replacing everything. So i need to know if a new OEM flywheel will last or if i need a performance one. Also probably gonna run a spec 3 or 3+ clutch.

stock flywheel is fine, just get it resurfaced, its already balanced for your motor.

Sure, the stock flywheel will work, but I sure wouldn't risk having a cast iron flywheel explode and remove my feet to save $300 If you're going to drive it hard, get a billet flywheel and and wrap the bell housing with a trans blanket.

I cant see 390 to the wheel breaking a cast iron flywheel. Buy a new GM one and call it a day.

Hmm...so how did you determine that?

Probably the ****loads of people running 383's or 355's w/ a stock flywheel. As long as you have good bolts and don't somehow mess up the clutch install your good to go. I have never heard of an LT1 flywheel exploding.
