Forged piston question

Re: Forged piston question
if youre sending it out to either ai or le you are gonna need stock heads, no work done to them. it should say in the description of the heads for sale either "stock" or "ported". also they are going to need to be a specific casting number, either 10207643 or 10128374.

Re: Forged piston question
its key that you get the heads with the 2 casting numbers that were listed, i see them on ebay also sometimes. if you pull the valve cover on the drivers side, you can see the casting number by the rocker arms, check yours you might have the right ones.

Re: Forged piston question
I am not a fan of LE1s. You could get an easy 25+ MORE HP with an AI 190cc package, or 40+ MORE with the 200cc package. Sure it's more money, but it is a SOUND investment and you'll certainly feel that extra power. Not to mention the 200cc package come with a custom grind billet-core cam based on your needs.
From my experience, it ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS pays off to save your money for the best parts, even if that means waiting 4-6 months or more. Resist the urge to get something in your hands so soon, even if it is cheap - it's probably not the best.

My 200cc ported stock castings, plus a completely ported stock manifold and all that stuff was right around $2500, but the heads/cam package is $1975 (it's listed on their webpage). The 190cc package is $1375 for the heads only.

Def plan ahead for whatever you do. The $ adds up quick as soon as you tear into the car. Add a third of your budget to your cost to cover incidentals and misc stuff you will want to replace.
