Free Mods

I think I may be goin to the track on saturday, and I'm a little broke. I was wondering what little things can you do to your car that will add a little, that is almost free. I'm not looking to gain like 50 horse, but just little piddly crap.

Yeah you might wanna get a better flowing exhaust some time in the future. The only real good free mod is the throttle body bypass. It is very easy to do. It's a good 4 -7hp. Other then that i would just try to lose as much weight as possible.

True. I would only do the TB bypass. Don't mess with the MAF or anything. Like stated before, it's dyno proven to give you 1 hp and a loss of 3 ft. lbs. of tq.

Like Drew said, tb bypass and lose some weight. You might also remove the front sway bar, take off 12lbs. and helps weight transfer (lets front wheels come up easier).

You can take out your spare tire/jack too. Some people don't do it just in case something happens, but I took mine out anyways. Thing is heavy as crap for a tire.

If you decide to take the spare and jack out. Which you should. Make sure you get 2 bottles of that fix a flat crap. The stuff that is in the can. It works real good. That way you will still be okay to get to the nearest gas station or some place like that if you get a flat.

I've been needing to get some of that for the longest time and it just keeps slipping my mind. I'm glad you reminded me.

Doesn't fix-a-flat basically ruin the tire? I mean, if you get a flat, and then use the stuff, can you still have it patched? Dad always told me not to use it for this reason.

Fix a Flat will continuously eat away at the inside of your rim forever (if it is aluminum), I've been told by several tire pro's to avoid it at all costs, just my .02.

There are also some places that refuse to work on tires with that stuff in them.

If your tires are going flat and you're planning on getting new ones in the future...then fix a flat works great...fill the whole damn tire up with em...
