Fuel injector Cleaning
My cars at 54K right now. Isn't it time to clean the injectors?
Is it better to pay a shop to clean them out...or to just do it myself. Is it hard to do with one of those cleaning kits?

I wouldn't worry about cleaning injectors at 54K miles. I had 129K mile injectors work flawlessly and I've seen numerous cars with over 100K mile injectors without any problems.
There's really no way to properly clean them yourself. The best you can do is spray some carb cleaner on them to clean the dust/dirt. If they are clogged, then proffessional servicing is required. And in my opinion, that's just not worth the price they charge. When the time comes, just buy some new Ford SVO injectors. At about $200-$220 brand new, they are a really good deal. (GM list prices for stock ones often exceed $1K )
