fuel injector recommendations
#16
I read the thread and still don't understand why you want to change injectors. Is it running lean and the injectors maxed out? Unless you have maxed them out and therefore are running out of fuel, larger injectors will be a complete waste of money and time. Certanly, there is very little point in going from a 22 to a 24lb injector. I'm sure you could find a set of stock 24lb'ers real cheap, because people have taken them out to upgrade.
I do agree with the people who said that if you do get larger injectors, get something decent sized. I'd recommend 42lb injectors. The high impedance injectors larger than that seem a little difficult to tune in my experience. The "pintle" type injector (Siemans makes them) seem to work best at elevated fuel pressures. But if you are running NA it really doesn't mattter. Any of the types/brands should work fine.

Have you Done any runs on a laptop to see what you pulse width is on your injectors? If at full WOT if they are under 20 then leave them alone. If over 20 then a upgrade to 24 lb is recommended. But I think if you are still running a stock cam then you should find they will be under 20 on the pulse width at WOT. Good Luck

I recently had my fuel pressure tested and it was fine after I had my fuel filter changed and it was full of crud. I have a little hesitation and hard starting and I think it wouldn't hurt to get new injectors. I see that the 94-up have 24s so while I am doing some mods and a tune up, I like the idea of 24s. That is why I am asking you guys for your experiences. I appreciate all of the good ideas and info you all have given me. Thanks.
