Fuel Injector tick?

Fuel Injector tick?
Should I be able to hear fuel injector tick at 2,000RPM with the windows down just cruising with the stereo OFF? Either I've never noticed it before or I'm getting paranoid, but it sounds kind of loud. It definately sounds like fuel injector tick though.

Re: Fuel Injector tick?
You should see the thread on Collapsed lifters. I thought I may have had a ticking fuel injector, but you shouldnt be able to hear a ticking fuel injector even at idle. I can hear my lifter at red lights, near a wall and the most annoying: in my parking garage at work .Anyone disagrees please post. Your car is 11 years old and the noise could actually be a multitude of things, have it looked at by a good mechanic.

I don't think you shoud be able to hear injectors at that high of a RPM. First thing I would do is make sure you don't have a exhuast leak. If that was not the problem I would then start checking the valvetrain ie. lifters, rockers, springs and such.

I hear a ticking at idle in my F-150, goes away with just about any throttle...pretty sure it's injector tick. My cousins ranger did the same thing. I don't think you would hear inject tick @ 2,000 rpm ever...especially if you have headers i doubt your exhaust is quiet enough to permit that.
