Still don't see the answer to my question
for 425-445 HP, it looks like a 36# injector is about maxed out? Is that time to step up to a 42#?
I was looking at the racetronix site about the "disc" injectors...
Are Ford/Bosch the same as SVO injectors that many seem to be running?
The advantage of the $49 42# over the $39 42# injectors is that they're flow matched?

I was looking at the racetronix site about the "disc" injectors...
Top feed disc injectors use a small disc with six holes around its circumference. The disc rests on a short chimney that surrounds a metering hole. As the disc is raised off the chimney by magnetic force, fuel flows through the holes in the disc, over the walls of the chimney, and out the metering hole to form a full, finely atomized cone.
Performance advantages over pintle injectors (i.e. Ford / Bosch & Accel types) as listed by Delphi:
• The flat mating surface ensures that no excess fuel is present to evaporate and therefore, no deposits or clogging can occur.
• Compatible with alternative fuels (i.e. Methanol)
• Longer service life
• High-speed disc action allows wider dynamic flow range for improved idling
• Quieter operation
• Revolutionary disc design resists build up deposits which can affect fuel flow.
• No Fuel leakage for quicker starts

Consider this... when Turbo Buick owners begin to modify their cars they usually step up from the factory 28# injector to a 50# or 57# injector. Why you may ask would they do this on a small 231CID motor? This is so that they don't have to keep buying larger injectors every time they step up the HP. As long as you have a tuner that knows what they are doing the same idle and mileage can maintained with a 42# as a with a 30# injector. Nothing else suffers as a function of the injector alone. Buying 30's then 36's and then 42's is a waste of money. We are not re-jetting a carburetor here.

I would get a nice set of 40 lb/hr injectors and set the fuel pressure between 45-48 PSI and have the thing dyno tuned. You shouldn't need to do it again for a while.

All said and done a 42lb injector is very manageable on a LT1 so there is no real reason for someone to buy a smaller injector other than a small price difference. Think ahead and make your buying decision.

Alright, if say you have smaller (30#) injectors now, that you got for a very good deal, and say you keep them and get the car tuned with them. Then down the line get larger like 42#, does the car need to be retuned or will it make up for the difference?
