Fuse problem of DOOM!
Ok, here's whats up. My 96 Z28 was overheating so I checked the fuse for the fans and it was blown (20 amp fuse) so to get to Autozone for more fuses I changed it out with a 7.5 amp fuse, which actually made it run perfect. Now I replaced it with the 20 amp and its gone to hell, the headlights are on when they are turned off, on the dash my left turn signal is showing on all the time unless I turn on the emergency signals. When I turn on the lights the 2 high beams are dimmed and the passenger low beam is on. When I turn the high beams on the driver side lights are totally off and the passenger work fine. Also when the lights are on the windshield wiper doesnt work.
I found out also that I have a vacuum hose or something (very bad with cars unfortunatlely) that has a leak and I can't find the damn thing again to fix it..but I can hear it! Does anyone have any idea how to fix this because nobody can look at it for 2 weeks in this area. Its been like this since Hurricane Rita , I had to wait 2 weeks for an air intake system to be put back in when I ran over a tire. Eitherway, I'm carless and would appreciate some help please.
I've read on the boards that if the vacuum is lost that it causes shorts so maybe thats why it messing with my fuses? I don't know..so..freaking..confused... ARGH!!!!!!

Check to see if any wires are touching the exhaust, any wires grounding out, clean the grounds...i've heard of using a propane torch and opening the gas and running it along the vacuum lines while the car is running, when the idle picks up, you found the leak.

Well..they just sat me down and said that I need a new computer, but to have the dealer diagnose it first. 300 for the new computer, 100 for reprogram, 75 for diagnosis, 100 to put it in. Lame...just lame. They stated that they could be wrong so don't waste the money on the computer yet..joy.

Re: Fuse problem of DOOM!
ok, the official diagnosis is....>drum roll< a wire was rubbing the side grounding out...WOOT! It ended up being 257 which is much better than the original 437 they quoted me. Also something that is freaking out on the EGR is gonna be replaced for free because it was recalled!!!! So yeah, car is good now. Just need a working air conditioner.
