Gaket Set And Rings

I can probably have my brother get me the best deal on the gaskets through Autozone (where he works) but where can I find rings? I remember someone mentioning that they are metric and are pretty expensive, but the only metric rings I have found are total seal and they are $150 from summit or jegs. I'm going down to my GM dealer today to see what they can tell me, but any help here would be nice.

What are some good gaskets for the LT1, I have always used Felpro but if something else is suggested please let me know.

Combination Motorsports has many gasket sets. That's what I'll get when the time comes.

Yeah. but I was told the the thickness of the rings was metric, not the standard 5/16 or whatever they are.

Summit offers both. It will take a few minutes to find it on the website though. I used them for the bearings (except the cam bearings that I bought at the machine shop) and almost everything else I bought.

You can get Mahle rings for 4.000" stock LT1 pistons but usually not at any parts store. The Hastings brand is almost as good but if I had the money it'd be Mahle and only Mahle.

I think you can get the Hastings for $70 or $80 bucks at most parts stores. Or is it more $$ ?. (Hastings 2M4626 STD)

Sealed power E-530K. A lot of parts houses and machine shops carry sealed power/speed-pro. It's 2mm top 1.5mm second and a 4mm oil ring if you are trying to look them up by size.

for a mostly complete gasket kit check out the fel pro #CS-9966
Summit link just for price comparison

That kit has almost every gasket needed for an engine rebuild accept the head gaskets, intake manifold gaskets and egr gaskets. The oil pan gasket is their best version.

I'm sure your contact at the parts store can get that for less than Summit.

I buy those kits in bulk to use as part of my LT1 rebuild kits. (I also buy the premium Mahle stock piston rings in bulk. . .hint...hint).

Figure that most know about that FelPro gasket kit but it seems to be somewhat undiscovered yet.
