I have read many posts about how much people are getting to the tank. However, the variable are never constant in people's posts. I can tell you that I get 220 miles to the tank. But here is how it breaks down.
1. Whenever the guage starts to read under the halfway mark, I fill her up. (approx. 11-12) gallons.
2. Write down the miles on the odometer and trip odometer and reset the trip.
3. I do some math and recording to keep track.
What I am saying is that I don't let my tank get close to empty to figure out what I am getting per tank. I don't care how many miles I get to the tank, I care about how many miles I get to the gallon. BTW, it calculates out to 19 - 19.5 mpg. Most tags I have ever seen on sports cars GENERALLY will say 17 city / 23 hwy. If I get anywhere in that range, I'm happy go lucky.

I've actually been coast to coast in my car I've gotten as much as 350+ miles and still had some to go. I did a tune up about two years ago when I got my car and if I do a lot of in town driving the gas mileage tends to steadily go down. After a lot of intown driving it takes an hour trip on the highway to get the gas mileage back up and clean everything out.
Just recently I filled up when I was between a 1/4 and E. My car was sitting on a pretty good slope passenger side low. I put almost 17 Gallons in and I couldn't believe it! I normally put in between 13-14 gallons and get anywhere between 180-250 on a tank city/highway.
Just some food for thought I can get 80-100 miles before the needle starts so come off the full mark even doing 80-90mph average. Also its about 2 gallons to go at 1/4 and about 5 gallons at half tank. Roughly 10 gallons at the full mark. About 5 above the full mark. Just from what I've callculated. So basically at the 3/4 mark you should know what to expect on the bottom end of the tank.
