Gasket matching?

I am getting my cc 306 cam put in on stock heads and the guy that is doing it says that he wants $150 for port match my gaskets. Is it worth it or not? I will be doing heads later just not right now.

Re: Gasket matching?

Im no expert first off but I have heard gasket matching is really just worthless. You should save up the money and get the heads ported later.

Re: Gasket matching?

No it's not worth it. First of all, gasket matching is only worth a few CFM, but even more importantly, it sounds like he's just going to do the intake manifold. Gasket matching the intake without doing the heads at teh same time is worthless. You'll get nothing out of it. Even if he IS planning on pulling the intake, pulling the heads, and gasket matching both the heads and intake it's just a waste of money if you're going to throw heads on it later. Tell him to leave the intake alone.
