Yes... you will need the speedo recalibrated unless you already have something that will do that for you.

That'll work, but your odometer will pile up miles quicker too.

What brand did you go with? Are you going to put in solid shims in lieu of crush sleeve?

I got some motive gears on ebay for around $140 new, and the installation kit from thunder racing which says:
Deluxe Kit: Includes pinion shims, carrier shims, crush sleeve, pinion seal, pinion nut, ring gear bolts, cover gasket, pinion & carrier bearings, PLUS wheel bearings and seals. (All of the small parts and pieces necessary to RESTORE an axle to like new condition!)
so there are your crush sleeves
I hope it picks up speed...my friend has a 2001 formula and nobody around here can beat him...hes running 13.0's on street tires and just got some ET streets that will probably let him hit 12.8 or so.....needless to say I have the car that needs to beat him

Do you need a tune after you put in 4.10's? Is it just for a speedo recalibration or is it more? We will be putting 4.10's in my friends 95Z 6speed soon. The car has the usual bolt on's so far, headers, I pipe, muffler, LT4 springs, 1.6 RR's, underdrive puller, MSD, air foil, CAI. TB bypass

All you need is speedo recalibration.

Get a Solid Pinion Spacer instead of using that crush collar.
Also, a new rear cover with bolts that press onto the carrier bearing caps. I am having a brain fart and can't remember what they're called.
