Getting knock with my cutout..HELP!

I ran Freescan today and drove around for a while. I have a Code #32 SES light (EGR System Failure) which I have to get rid of, but the main thing I wanted to discuss was my knock retard when I open up my cutout. I saw as much as 5.9 degrees of knock retard when my cutout was open on a WOT pass. With the cutout closed I had 0 degrees of knock retard on a WOT pass. It happens right around 3000 rpm's, right when the sound of the cutout resonates the living crap out of the car. How many degrees of knock retard will it take for me to see a significant decrease in performance? I'm guessing maybe it's costing me a tenth or so at the track? I already had my PCM tuning done by Madwolf, and he supposedly desensitized the knock sensor, should I ask him to desensitize it even more?....if that's even possible... Thanks.

Where is the cutout placed? You might want to invest in the LT4 KM. It's only like $30 bucks and might solve your problem completely.

Re: Getting knock with my cutout..HELP!

I don't wanna get an LT4 KM because I read that many people with OBDI did not experience any difference. The cutout is mounted right in front of the muffler, any farther back and it would have to be behind the muffler, lol.

It helped me a lot. Get that module im sure it will help you. Either that or you have a bad batch of gas.

Alright, that's all I needed to hear...a response from a fellow '94 LT1 owner. I'm gonna go order the KM asap and if you guys don't hear back from me, it solved my problems!
