Getting low TP voltage

Anybody have any ideas? I guess I will see how much they are and if they are pretty cheap i will get a new one. Is there anything else I can do?

What is the voltage at closed throttle and at WOT? Does the voltage increase smoothly as you open the throttle? The stock PCM will accept voltages as low as 0.20V at closed throttle. If its lower than that, you will set a code. Any codes?

Re: Getting low TP voltage

The black wire is ground, the grey wire should have 5 volts. The dark blue wire should have .4-.8 or .9 volts with the throttle blades closed and 4.5 but not greater than 5 volts with the throttle wide open.

If you have 5 volts on the grey wire, and you don't get the required values on the blue wire, then the tps is faulty. Thats the way it was with mine, and I replaced it from www.partsamerica.com for 28.xx.

Yes it is setting a "low TP voltage" code. I am going to hook up the scanner to find real time voltage, but I can't go WOT while the engine is running. I only have about 300 mile on the new 355. Can I still read the voltage while the ignition is in the on position but not running?

You don't have to do it while the engine is running. Turn the key on, throttle closed, engine not running, and observe the TPS voltage. Push your foot to the floor slowly and watch how it increases. Alternatively, put a volt meter across the blue and black pins in the harness connector and manually move the blades.

As Injuneer said key on motor off.

As for the not going to full throttle. It depends on the rings you put in it. I've only 100 miles on my fresh motor. I have moly rings, and the directions on the rings were to take it from 35mph to 55 mph at full throttle 10 times to seat the rings. I haven't taken mine to full throttle since and won't for another 400 miles.
