Paying somebody competent to fix the thing should cost less than all the options mentioned above.

Hard to help you because you are jumping all over the place. You asked about aftermarket, then went through random issues with the existing system. People are trying to help... not sure why you feel you aren't getting any ideas.

The one thing that you appear not to have done is do a scan/data log. Have you thought about picking up TTS DataMaster?

yes i have the cables now and am looking for a pc to use. its a moats cable, what program works best with it. no programs for a mac. i did put the pcmforless tune in it and changed the plugs they were black and would not fire, have it running good enough to get to the dyno tuner and that may be were i go. its running great at high rpms and will idle at about 800 but its super rich. pulse width must be full all the time. trany is wack and i am still thinking theres a conection somehow but cant find anything in the books yet, im learning alot doing it. its hard to find someone with the aldl setup for a 93 out here in the middle of nowhere. two hour drive to the nearest dyno tuner. did some poking around and my ground on the ecu is ohming at .5 with the key on, is that normal? its 0 with the key off. anyways heres a bad recording for ya to listen to. cant seem to find the right distance with this camera. its quiter closer.

Re: good aftermarket ecu

Hi, I have a 96 Camaro 6spd. 396. I am using Fast xfi and installing a xim to control the torqhead Opti conversion. I am running out of room for all these boxes and wanted to clean up some space and to find out what the stock computer is left to control if im using fast , and if it could be removed. Thanks ken
