goodyear hi-miler hoses
#3
The Hi Miler is a good kit.. and is missing one of the eleven hoses [one length of 3/4 heater hose that can be worked around with a regular piece of heater hose] It isn't really that big a deal..
I wrote Goodyear about this, and was assured they would re-engineer it... [but I don't think they ever will..]
That was last fall... ...
On shoebox' hose diagrams:
http://csce.uark.edu/~jgbertr/rb/heater_hoses.jpg
It is # 15 that's missing....
I used, instead, a piece of 3/4" 'heater hose', cut to about 14 1/2" [the p/n for the GM replacement hose for this hose, preformed, is: 'heater inlet front hose' GM p/n 10146991 $32.29 GM list, [same p/n for 93-4 and 95-7]
I also found that using a straight piece of 3/4 hose instead of the 'elbow' [#12 in diagram] worked better too, as the 14 1/2" piece isnt 'preformed' [bent] to match up well with the elbow...
I also used this as an opportunity to 'upgrade' from the 93-4 hose configuration to the 95-7, [since there isn't a Hi Miler for the early years..]
I feel the 95-7 is a better setup...
Hope that helps you...

Re: goodyear hi-miler hoses
Just bought one in Aug. of 2004 and it is still missing that hose. For $100, you would think they could include them all. It's upsetting, because I want all the hoses to match, which is impossible now, since I can't find bulk blue hi-miler hose anywhere. It looks like a hack job to have them all replaced except one.

Re: goodyear hi-miler hoses
A search here:
http://www.goodyearbeltsandhose.com/cars/heat.html
Got these results:
1. 6 miles Partsource # 725
1020 Albert Street
Regina, SK S4R2R1
2. 45 miles Partsource # 750
710 Main Street N.
Moose Jaw, SK S6H3K5
Maybe try them for the 3/4" heater hose:
p/n 65075 3/4" 6' Bagged
You need about 14.5"
I have some 3/4" here, but it'd be a pain to ship to Canada, and it was pricey too..

Re: goodyear hi-miler hoses
Mtrhds94Z, thanks for the reply! I checked out PartSource and they would have to order it in with a week delivery. I wanted to get this done while the engine is still out of my car. It would be a pretty tough job with the engine in.
I ended up going to a truck (semi) parts store and bought some blue silicone heater hose (made by Goodall). Supposed to be better than the Goodyear EPDM rubber, but it is stupidly expensive ($5.80/ft).
