got compression!!

got the car fully together today. i tried turning it with a near dead battery...it turned a bit, thats all. let the battery charge a bit and turned it again...turned much faster but not all the way there. there is lots of compression, but it sounds like it is taking a lot for the engine to make the compression if that makes sence. kind of like the roller rockers are waayyy too tight. would that cause this car from turning over??

no buddy. just turned. i dont have the radiator itself hooked up so i dont wanna start it too long if it did. its so close. if i let it turn for about 2 1/2 to 3 sec ill start hearing that turn from start to run but then it stops and the engine just keeps cranking over

Wouldn't that be the opposite of your problem? If the rockers were too tight, the valve(s) would stay open longer and relieve the compression to turn over easier.

Have you spun it over with the plugs out?

When you were finished installing the rotating assembly, did you measure the torque required to rotate the assembly?

found the problem. my dad did the rockers and well i knew this but didnt bother to tell him. after tightened, they loosen back up again after settling. he did not know this and he re tightened all of them once over. so the rockers were not NEAR proper spec. i re adjusted myself yesterday, car started right up a little bit of smoke came from the secondary exhaust holes, but other than that, the car seemed fine. but it was the first start in over 11 months of winter so i was prepared for a little smoke
