Got My LE3 1/4 miles time

Finally went to the track. Here is what I ran:

60' ... 1.96
1/8 ... 7.85
mph ... 91.63
1/4 ... 12.126
mph ... 116.08

Ran it all natural. I havn't hook the NX system back up yet. I was fairly happy since I only got one run in and really couldn't hook. I have Nitto 315/35 's out back at 20psi but still no real traction. I was getting 1.7 60' times with my old hot cam. Remember, I dynoed at 402 rear wheel and 425 rear torque through my automatic with 2800 stall. With that mph, what should I be running with ideal conditions and traction? I just took delivery of some Pacesetter longtubes and I can't wait to put them on. That should help out a little since right now I have Mac mids.

I think once I get the long tubes on, the mph will go up a little. Oh, this is through a cutout.

altitude: 10 ft above sea level
Temp: 70 degrees F
Hum: High (Houston)

Sounds like 11.80's if it would have went 1.75'ish in the 60'. I'm sure it has a lot left in it. Play with the shiftpoint and see what it likes. More tire and converter could really make things come alive if you want deep 11's.

How stock is your intake out of curiosity?

I ported the throttle body inlet on the intake to 58mm for my BBK 58mm TB. Lloyd port matched my intake for the heads.

Not a LE fully ported intake?...just port matched, and opened for a 58mm TB?.........if so, there's another couple MPH in that alone(that's what mine picked up anyway)........the longtubes will probably give you another couple MPH......PS: If you were unaware, make sure to match your new header flange(ports) to your heads exhaust port.......very commonly after Lloyd raises the exhaust port where it needs to be, the upper 1/8th - 1/4 inch of your header port flange will be like a brick wall for the exiting exhaust flow......not at all good for max power.............good luck with it...........Joe

with the kind of power you're making, I would expect sub 11.5 times. I think you may have a couple minor bugs to work out but, for the most part, it didn't sound like a bad first day at all. As stated already, the mph should, and will go up once it all comes together. Good luck.

Your times aren't bad at all. I would talk to Lloyd though and see what he recommends in terms of gears and stall. I'm sure you still have some more left in your combo.

Most definitely. 2800 is no bueno once your torque curve characteristics change when adding something like cylinder heads.

HRP is one of the best tracks to gage how a setup will run when comparing mph to rwhp.

for a 383 w/ LE3 heads/cam, he recommended:
yank ss3600 stall
3.73 gears
26" tires

i already had that convo with him
