Only reason why they are comming out with this one, this intake is old, I use to see pics of it in Chevy High Performance circa 96, kinda funny how it came out now when the LT4 is no longer in production.

I really don't understand why a company like Edelbrock, with the amount of money they have at their disposal for R&D, didn't attempt to make an LSx style intake. This seems like a wasted opportunity IMO. I honestly cannot believe that none of the people who work for this company have ever done any market research by studying input from average Joe's on websites like this one to get an idea of what potential customers want and what would sell.
The "tuned" runner spiel by the Edelbrock representative does lend a clue though. It would seem that by making a statement like this, they must at least have a little insight into what the customer wants to hear. Unfortunately for Edelbrock, ever since this Airgap intake they're producing was conceptualized, (1996?), the internet has gotten alot bigger and word of mouth is but a mouse click away. Relying on coined phrases and buzzwords to sell their product from magazine ads is no longer going to cut it.
In regards to an LSx style intake: even if they weren't able to squeeze one single horsepower's worth of improvement out of it, the undeniable torque gains from longer runners and of course the intrigue involved with bolting on a part that was modeled after one from a "superior" engine would probably have had these things flying off the shelves.
