Gtech my car today
I got a chance to run my car today after the tranny rebuilt, shift kit, and new torque converter. I also had new plugs and wires put in along with a fuel filter. I don't know how accurate these gtechs are but I ran a 12.6 at 119 mph
0-60 4.5 seconds 2.5 60ft
1/8th 8.51 at 94mph
1/4th mile 12.6 at 119mph
HP 346
TQ 402
Has anyone else questioned the use of these?
I was shocked after my run today to find out what it showed.

Did you use it on a fairly straight road? It wasnt bumpy was it? That kind of stuff throws all of the "G" meters off. I have an older Gtech and a newer style with more features (another brand cant remember right now) I used both and on the right road they can be fairly accurate. But I have had them show inaccurate times as well so watch out. I ran pretty close to the same thing at the track when I first got my car. Haven't been back to the track yet since mods only Gtech. A4 trans is toast, destroyed the sprag.

The road was flat and not bumpy. A smooth highway as a matter of fact. Prior to the tuneup, tranny rebuilt, and new torque converter. I only ran 13's with a gtech. On my last attempt, I shattered the input drum in the tranny. It cost me around 1500 bucks for labor and parts to get it to where it is now.

Your probably right about the trap speed being too high. I have read in different forums that the trap speed tends to be high on the gtech until you can get an accurate pitch factor set. I guess I would actually have to take it to the track and compare the gtech and actual track times. 110 seems more logical for a trap speed.

The 315hp is what they came stock with in 95. When I bought the car I added the mods in my sig. I also gutted the cat, I am not sure about internals done to the car since I am the second owner. I bought from a dealer and had no way of getting ahold of previous owner to see if internals were messed with.

I would say your internals would have to be messed with to go from the rated 315 flywheel hp to 346/402 to the wheels with your mods. That, or more likely, the Gtech is inaccurate in getting power numbers.
