H-pipe vs. X-pipe?

Is any one better than the other? Performance or sound difference? I am looking to redo my true duals. There is a shop here that does an excellent job for cheap as hell, but doesn't have experience with X-pipes. I currently have a 3" system with 12" bullets and an x-pipe.

I'd say that the H pipe would help retain more backpressure than an X pipe...

I could care less about backpressure. The last couple of dynos showed that my car hates it

Performance wise, they'll be bout the same. H pipes generally tend to sound more bassier. Depends on what you want. I have the same exhaust setup you do. I wanted the x pipe on there for a more open raw sound. BTW, did you dyno your car after the dual bullets? If so, get any good gains?

I had true duals on my car and took them off, Way too load!!!
I am now running a borla with offroad y-pipe, I just keep the full plate on cause it was still load as he!! with the borla wide open.
JMO, I like to cruise in my car so depends on what you want, But if you are trying to quiet the car down, A h-pipe is not gonna do it.
Good luck!
Chris...

Yep. An x won't do it either. I would only recommend doing a true dual setup if you know what sound you want...and you really don't think you'll get tired of being loud. I KNOW that I want to be heard and I never get tired of being loud...it's different for others. Just don't waste your money on doing a true dual setup if you aren't sure about being loud or not.

I am looking for a bit of a deeper sound, so I think I will go with the h-pipe. As far as the dyno, no. But i gained 9 rwhp with a open cutout over a catback, and lost no torque whatsoever. I actually gained 2rwtq

I heard that a X-pipe will give a deeper, more powerfull sound at lower rpms than a H-pipe. Anyone confirm this?
