Hatch Not Staying Open

When i pop the hatch i can lift it up but then i have to support it with my hands. I just recently had my windows tinted, but im not sure if they had to open the hatch in order to do it. Also, the weather temp was down to the teens here in ohio last week. I'm not sure what the problem is, I just know that the hatch wont stay open on its own like it used to. Any ideas?

I would also say replace the hatch struts. Sounds like there is not enough pressure in the struts to hold the hatch up.

sounds like one of the struts went bad. replace both unless you wanna do the job twice.

The struts have a finite life. At some point they will go bad. The pressurized gas inside very slowly diffuses out the seals until there isn't enough pressure to hold the weight of the hatch. Cold weather can make the problem a little worse if they are close to the edge anyway. You're gonna have to replace them.
