ive searched..and i cant find what im looking for...I plan on doing a CC306 cam instal and I have a few questions..
-with the comp 987's do i need to machine the heads?(i plan on doing these in my garage but i dont want to have to mess with the heads like that)
-would i need shims and how would i know
-why NSA instead of SA
-i know this is asked a milllllion times but can someone give me a part#/price/ list for the 306 set up.(i want to go with 987's and steel retainers) thank you for your help and time.

Yes the spring pockets need machined for the double springs. I wouldn't suggest hacking at them your self. I used the beehive when I put the 306 in my car. You have to buy new retainers so you can choose to use stock locks or not. I didn't want to pull the heads for machining so thats the route I took. Seems to work alright by the #'s in my sig.

Not sure on your other mods but definately headers and catback to let that baby breath. To go with the cam install you'll need hardened push rods, guide plates, NSA rockers, gaskets, and I went with the LT4 Extreme duty timing chain set to keep the waterpump stock, computer tune, spark plugs, I went with the over the valvecover wires to keep from burning them off on the headers. It'll set you back some cash but it'll put a big smile on your face everytime you winder up past 3000 rpm.
