Header Advice

I am Looking at purchasing headers for my 93 Bird, is there some advice you guys have for me? I have been looking at Pacesetter, Jet-Hot, & on the more spendy side Kooks. I have heard that Pacesetter is the best bang for your buck but should I go with Kooks for more HP and the easier fitment issues for the LT1? I also will definatlety go with a Y-pipe & catback all at the same time, I am a SLP loudmouth fan so no decision there!

Thanks Mike.

I went with hooker super comp tuned and they weren't to bad to install and made the sound awesome. As for cost.... it took a chunck of change.

Power gains will be pretty much the same with whatever long tube you choose. It will more so come down to cost and quality when making your decision.

For $650 you can have a set of the LPP Stainless Steel LT's t-321 1 3/4 x 1 7/8 with a y pipe, w/ free shipping. Best deal around period.

Go over to the LS1Tech.com LT1 forum, search for the LPP thread and ask there.

1 7/8 headers are way too big for 99% of the cars on here, unless you like giving up ALOT of lowend/midrange torque.

The LPP headers are stepped.

And there is actually a link to the ls1tech thread within this thread. There is no need to search.

they may be a little overkill, but 650 for stainless headers and y including shipping, and they have been developed to try to be as perfect as they can be, look at the picture of them from the thread, there's a link to a album on there. it was no question for me. I believe he said that the place that is building them said two weeks, so they'll probably be ready to be shipped out in bout three weeks or so.

So you don't care that you are going to be giving up a bunch of lowend/midrange?

Blue line 1 3/4 headers, red line 1 7/8 headers.

Is that a comparison to a stepped header, or full 1 7/8" primaries?

Everything I read seemed to indicate that 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" stepped headers were of no benefit compared to 1 3/4", but some people would argue that any car will benefit. I guess some people have experienced gains.

I think the LPP's are only available in a stepped design.
