HTH
That stuff sounds cool. I am going to try that to patch up my FLP collectors where they began rusting.

I've been building Hot-Rods long before the advent of these modern coatings. Here's what I'd do, if they have been sandblasted then just clean them with contact cleaner, blow them off (if you have compressed air), then shoot them with VHT Flameproof paint (following the instructions on can for coatings). This stuff will outlast any other header paint IMO, but of coarse if you can afford to get them coated, I would. VHT can be had from Schucks, Jegs and I think Summit.

Go to any auto parts store and get "brake cleaner" or "electrical part cleaner" or even "carb and choke cleaner"(aerosol cans), more or less the same as contact cleaner. They clean, then quickly evaporate. Make sure you use these outside or you'll get as high as a glue sniffer.

Acetone, lacquer thinner, MEK is cheaper[since it isn't 'aerosol' ]
What you want is an oil free solvent...
[not Gumout carb cleaner either stuff like that has a 'film' in it]
Having been sandblasted is good.. not glassbeaded, but with silica sand, etc[better than sanded]
